RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 726055

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Ubuntu Chromium/29.0.1547.65 Chrome/29.0.1547.65 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce:

1. Launch desktop Firefox (version 25, from Ubuntu 13.10 repos)
2. Open a tab in desktop Firefox (e.g. www.google.com)
2.5. Tried Tools -> Sync now on desktop Firefox
3. Switch to mobile Firefox on my Android
4. Hit the tab switch button to the right of the address bar
5. Hit the Sync icon at the top

Actual results:

I don't see the tab open on my desktop Firefox. The list (I assume it's supposed to be a list) is empty.

Expected results:

I should see the tab I have open in my desktop Firefox.
On desktop, Edit -> Preferences -> Sync shows my account, with all six checkboxes checked.

On mobile, Settings -> Firefox Sync -> What to sync shows all four checkboxes checked. It also shows "Last synced 04/11/2013 21:13", which is two minutes ago. I opened the tab several hours ago.

I tried turning sync of and on again (on Android). I tried closing Firefox and launching it again (on Android).
Try this:

Open Android's Settings app (not from within Firefox). Accounts & sync. Tap your Sync account. Menu > Sync Now.

Now go back to Firefox and try again.

(Sync doesn't sync all that frequently to avoid draining your battery.)
For the record, when I said "On mobile, Settings -> Firefox Sync", I meant the Android Settings app. Should I not trust the Last Synced date/time it shows?

I tried Sync Now. "Syncing" took a long time (between 5 and 30 seconds, I guess). Then I switched back to Firefox, and, yes, now I see the two tabs I had open on the desktop.

You should not. That's the last time Android decided we might want to think about syncing, not the last time we fetched data over the network.

Great!

Duping this to Bug 726055. We'll be addressing this in the next major revision of Sync.
