The animation from changing in to the customizing mode is not verry smooth. 1. The space between the search bar and the address bar changes (maybe because of the reload icon, that disappears) 2. the length of the address bar changes (maybe because of the reload icon, that disappears) 3. The text "about:customize" appears for a few seconds.

Mike, is this a dupe of bug 873060 or one of its deps, or should this be a new dep? Maybe it should be removed at a different point?

I don't see the first two issues on OS X. Wondows-only, perhaps? I do see "about:customize" appear briefly, though. P2 feels right for the metabug, but the specific issues in this bug feel minor.

Is this still an issue to track, or has it been adequately fixed by the other about:customization smoothness work?

I think we're OK to clear this bug as is - the majority of it has already been addressed, or will be addressed in other bugs blocking bug 873060.
