This is a tracking bug to track which animations are jerky because of a non trivial (10ms+) style flush. This typically happens, but not necessarily, at the start of an animation.

Note that likely bug 862276 will be sufficient but I'd still like the track all the issues that are hurt by this such that we can very them one by one.

tn mentions this may need bug 862276 fixed?

Yes I mention that in Comment 1. I hope that it will be sufficient. Once it lands I will close any bugs that are solved by it and then we can go through any remaining issues.

As well as improving how fast we flush style, we could also fix bug 927349 to reduce the visible impact of this bug.

Bug 927349 would mean we still would have very high touch latency. If we had this solved I would just transform this bug into high latency so I wouldn't consider it as a fix, even if it would make the problem less severe.

Sure, it certainly isn't an alternative to fixing the slow style flushes. But it might improve the user experience in the mean time, and assuming we can't get the flush cost down to zero, might always be that way.

I agree, it's worth doing bug 927349.
