This bug will be used to track all changes done to fix productization issues inside l10n repositories. Changes will be committed to mozilla-aurora and merged down to l10n-central where possible. Things to be done: * Update Yahoo and eBay icons for both desktop (16px) and mobile (32px) * Remove Google Reader and other obsolete keys from region.properties * Apply whitelisted changes for Metro if not already there (further changes will need bug+approval) Outside of this bug scope (en-US): * fix en-US Creative Commons searchplugin (bug 939804) * update Bing icon for both desktop and mobile (all locales use the en-US version, locale detection is server side)

Hi flod, I wonder how http://hg.mozilla.org/l10n-central/lt/rev/866830b5e3c2 managed to qualify as something worth pushing into central without even asking the repo owner (me). I purposely never merged my migrations to aurora back into central, because I kept central "dirty", yet most localised, and aurora "clean", but with some unmaintained files (chatzilla, venkman) removed and some others (SM help) constantly copied over from en-US. Now these files are all gone/overwritten in central for no good reason. :/ Need I say I'm slightly annoyed?

I'm sorry about this, but you can realize the size of the entire operation by looking at the number of commits that I did. I flooded dev-l10n with mails about what I was doing before even starting, asking localizers to check this bug, and stopped every time l10n-central had some activities in the last year and "hg merge" gave me results that I couldn't understand (see depending merge bugs). And there are probably going to be other occasions where we need to do this kind of mass landings, so please check dev-l10n. If you don't want me to land changes in your repository, I can file bugs and let you do it, it's up to you (but for productization bugs like this one we need patch and explicit approval, just to be clear).

My suggestion would be to land changes on central first for locales that work in central first. I know it is tough to follow almost a 100 language repositories, but I think Pike used to maintain a list of locales that work in central. I suspect that the list of locales that work on central FIRST would mostly overlap with the list that work on central AT ALL. ;)

You can update to a previous revision, but the next commit would create a new head and you don't really want that. But there's an underlying issue: why do you keep outdated files on l10n-central? That's a repository used to build and distribute software, not just a storage folder. I believe it would be worth to move this discussion out of the bug to dev-l10n, at least to avoid sending mails to tens of people not interested in the discussion. > My suggestion would be to land changes on central first for locales that > work in central first. I'm not aware of such a list. Also: activity on central doesn't necessarily mean that all products are localized on central. To give you an example my team works on l10n-central, but Thunderbird is maintained only on mozilla-aurora. Since nobody does merges between central and aurora on merge day (if there's one thing I learned in the process, that's it), this means that changes on l10n-central would remain there.
