the spellchecker is not available under Mozilla but only under Netscape 6. Which version are you using exactly, the user agent you gave is not Netscape 6!

Confirmed with HPUX N6.1 Beta 2 build User Agent : Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; HP-UX 9000/785; en-US; rv:0.9.2) Gecko/20010802 Netscape6/6.1 The reporter probably filed this using N4.x. I checked the HPUX N6.1 build and it does disable the spell check option.

Ever confirmed: true
I don't think that was the point that ducarroz was making. The spell checker is a NETSCAPE componant only. It is not a part of mozilla. This should be in bugscape, not bugzilla.
Closing this as invalid and opening in bugscape. # 8612.
