Not sure if this is a bug or an RFE...
I have been goofing around with the bookmarks system today, and discovered that
I could drag and drop several links at a time onto the Bookmark Manager, and it
would take them, even though bug 94463 reared its ugly head.
Since I have a lot of bookmarks saved as links in folders, it would be nice if I
could drop a folder onto the Bookmark Manager, have it create the folder for me,
and recursively process each directory, adding only the "shortcut" files.
Conversely, it would be nice to be able to drag a folder from the Bookmark
Manager and drop it onto the Desktop, having it create a folder full of link files.
Since I don't know what the expected behavior is, I don't know if this is an
enhancement or not. Either way, it doesn't do it yet. In case it's a bug, I'm
on win98 build 2001080603.

This depends on having a mechanism for converting between IE-style favorites
folders (folders containing .url files, also called Internet Shortcuts) and
Mozilla's internal bookmark format.
See also bug 59636, need an "Import IE Favorites" feature that converts IE
favorites to Mozilla bookmarks.
Summary: Bookmark Folder DND Behavior → should be able to drag bookmark folder to desktop to create folder containing .url files, and vice versa

Not counting bugs #103466 and #103468, dragging the bookmark icon from the
address bar to a Windows Explorer works in Mozilla 0.9.4.
Not tested from the "Manage bokmark" window.

FWIW, in 1.3alpha, I discovered I could drag .URL files created by IE 5.0 into
Bookmark side window but the URL name in the bookmark window would show up blank
after dragging. However, the bookmark seems to work when I click on it. I
agree with comment above; it would be very nice to drag and drop betweeen .URL
folders/files and bookmark window or managager.
