User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:28.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/28.0 Iceweasel/28.0a2 (Beta/Release) Build ID: 20131215004001 Steps to reproduce: Middle clicking on horizontally listed tabs deletes them, But then one day I middle clicked on a vertically listed tab, and... Actual results: Nothing. Expected results: Should have closed them just the same!
Component: Untriaged → Tabbed Browser
Blocks: 618791
Reproduced on latest Aurora (build ID: 20140106004002) and on latest Nightly (build ID: 20140105030203) using the STR from the description. Also reproducing on Windows and Mac OS X.

Issue still reproduces on Win10 and Mac 10.13 using latest NB 96.0a1 (20211111045525) (when pressing the middle click(the mouse wheel) on drop down menu, nothing happens).

Summary: middle click in vertical tab list does not delete tab → middle click in tab manager does not close tab

UX seems interested enough in this that they'd put it on their shortlist of papercuts they'd like to tackle. I'm going to see if I can quickly knock this out.

Should we add a relnote for this, or put something on SUMO even? (I just looked on SUMO and there doesn't seem to be an article on this menu that we could just update. :( )

Release Note Request (optional, but appreciated)
[Why is this notable]:

Users that use the Tab Manager (the panel showing the list of tabs in the tab strip) will find that they can now close tabs by middle-clicking on items in that list.

[Affects Firefox for Android]:

No.

[Suggested wording]:

Do you use the tab list panel in the tab bar? If so, you can now close tabs by middle-clicking items in that list.

[Links (documentation, blog post, etc)]:

None.

Reproduced the initial issue using an old Nightly build before the fix. Verified that this is fixed on Firefox 112.0b4 across platforms (Windows 10, Ubuntu 22.04 and macOS 13), the tabs from "List all tabs" can now be closed using middle mouse button.
