Twitter timeline should at least be retrievable for a particular time period.
Often times when I launch instantbird, I have one reason or the other to immediately restart it.. usually that reason is to install a new update that I would check for.
Before i restart the program or anything, I have to read all the twitter posts, because if not, they will be gone when the program restarts. SO,it would be nice to have the option to retrieve these messages on relaunch as opposed to me visiting twitter homepage to catch up.

Well, they should be available in your logs first of all. :)
I agree it's kind of a bad user experience, it'd be preferable if Instantbird actually tried to set the "last known Tweet" as the last READ tweet, instead of the last received one. But I'm not sure if this is possible with the current set up.
This would also be solved if logging was better and previous messages were viewable in the conversation.
Thanks for filing this, I thought I had a long long time ago, but apparently it was just discussed.

I understood clokep, and thank you for taking note of the need for its enhancement.

Yes! :-)

Doesn't really matter, if it's not "currently" possible, someone will attach here a patch to make this possible ;-).

Sure! :-)

+1, thanks for filing this, it's probably the most annoying behavior of the 1.1 version for me, I'm surprised I haven't filed it either.

Bug 954392 (bio 958) (always show some context) together with infinite scroll will fix this I think, if no better solution can be found earlier.

I don't think this is really fixable (well the way to fix it is bug 954392 (bio 958), as aleth suggested). There's no good way for us to know if you've actually read a tweet or not. I'm going to close this as WONTFIX. If someone comes up with an excellent way to handle this, feel free to reopen.
