If a toolbarbutton with "type=menu" is placed into the panel and the user opens this menu and clicks on one of the entries, then the menu closes but the panel keeps open. I don't know if this is an expected behaviour (if so I'll have to workaround this) or a bug.
It's a bug. I would expect that when I finish with bug 940307, this would be fixed as well.
