When I click on a link to file to download it, if there's a colon in the
filename, the "Save As..." dialog comes up, but it won't download.
To see this in action, go to http://www.filepile.org/ and find a file in one of
the piles that has a colon in it (there's usually at least a couple).

I can't reproduce this on 2001082108 at all. I'm trying
http://www.filepile.org:8080/f/movies/protrude,%20flow.rm
(with shift-click so it actually tried and pops up a save as window) and it
works for me.
That file doesn't have a colon in the filename. It has a %20, which translates
to a space. Try this one:

With 2001-08-24-03, Win NT, the save-as dialog doesn't even come up. Note that ':'
isn't a valid char in filename on Windows. But that isn't a reason to prohibit
to save such
a file. Ideally Mozilla should suggest a valid filename for the OS, e.g.
substitute ':' with
"%3A" on Windows.
Confirming. I'm not sure about the right component for this, trying Networking /
File first.

This also fails if the page's URL contains %3A in place of the colon character
(tested as of 2001112903).

Hmm. I can't reproduce this bug - it works for me in Netscape 7.0, Netscape 7.1
as well as Mozilla trunk. (win2k)
testcase: http://stud4.tuwien.ac.at/~e0225227/foo:bar.html
or http://stud4.tuwien.ac.at/~e0225227/foo%3Abar.html
can anyone still reproduce this?
