User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/32.0.1700.76 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce: I used Firefox 26 at Android 4.2.1 on tablet. I import .p12 personal certificate with addon https://addons.mozilla.org/bg/firefox/addon/addcertificate. I also import Root CA of the bank without problem. Actual results: Try to sign docs in a bank application, I receive a message ”window.crypto Error:undefined TypeError: window.crypto.signText is not a function”. Expected results: To can import .p12(.pfx) certificate (without addons) and to sign doc like desktop versions for Windows, MAC and Linux at same conditions.
OS: Windows XP → Android
Hardware: x86 → ARM
could you specify for which bank this applies? or probably even better would be some sort of publicly available test case where the issue can be observed...
Bug 868373 is the basically the same thing but for Firefox OS.
It is unlikely that we're going to implement crypto.signText for Android since we're contemplating removing it for desktop Firefox.
Summary: Firefox for Android .p12 certificates and 'crypto.signText' function → Add crypto.signText to Firefox for Android
Desktop versions of Firefox is used in e-banking systems of many Bulgarian banks, especially at MAC and Linux (where have not IE), because there is 'crypto.signText' working function (not supported in Chrome), used about sign docs with client certificates (the process is described also from Lloyd Hilaiel in Bug https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=292238) and all this make Firefox preferred browser for many users (include Windows). That's why (and as i have been recommended from Support Forum) open a question is there plans to implement 'crypto.signText' for Android. As thank you for interest i stay hearing if decide change.
Bug 1030963 removed this functionality entirely.
