User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:27.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/27.0 (Beta/Release) Build ID: 20140127194636 Steps to reproduce: 1) launch firefox on android (using beta/27.0, rev 03cf9c30f19f according to about:buildconfig) 2) make sure your phone is portrait 3) go to http://www.arrrgh.in/test.html 4) rotate the phone to landscape Actual results: The text is not re-flowed to take up the available screen width Expected results: The text is re-flowed to take up the available screen width. Chrome on android does this (version is 32.0.1700.99).
This works for me. CAn you provide screenshots before and after rotating?
before rotate
after rotate to landscape
before rotate with chrome
after rotating with chrome
The screenshots were taken with a Nexus 4, I can reproduce the same behavior with Nexus 7.
Forgot to add that if I double tap on the screen to initiate a zoom, the text is re-flowed.
Strange. I'm also testing on a Nexus 4 with the exact same build you said in comment 0 (i.e. the latest 27 beta build) and I don't see this. It reflows fine for me. Aaron, can you repro?

Works for me. No alterations to preferences, no add-ons.

I looked into about:config and see that I had browser.zoom.reflowOnZoon set to true. I reset the preference and it works now. I don't remember going to about:config to change this (and it seems unlikely that I did it on both devices). Looks like this was exposed in the UI according to https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=900564 . It may not affect new users, but maybe something should be done to reset this preference so existing users don't get this broken behavior?

Summary: text does not reflow on rotate from portrait to landscape → Force browser.zoom.reflowOnZoom to false when removing the user setting
It's probably too late to do this for FF27 since that'll go out the door early next week.
