The state of the tree widget in the "Category" pane of the preferences dialog is not saved correctly. To reproduce: (1) select preferences item in edit menu. (2) Click on disclosure triangle to open up the "Advanced" category (or close "Appearance" category). (3) Click "OK" to save preferences state. (4) select preferences item in edit menu (5) Notice that category tree widget is back to the state it had before step (2).
