yes, it should be. If not that the current Places D&D code didn't seem to work properly on panels (it should probably be rewritten/fixed with those in mind), we use the same code between the menubar Bookmarks and the bookmarks panel (that means we need to basically rewrite that code to share it across 2 different views), and panels as we use in Australis are not acting properly (not reacting on mousedown). So, there's lots of code to be rewritten or refactored here, that's the reason they are not.
