User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.9; rv:27.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/27.0 (Beta/Release)
Build ID: 20140212131424

Steps to reproduce:

I activated "simulate touch" in the screen size test menü

Actual results:

After activating and deactivating the touch simulator firefox will not reset this feature. A lot of pages using Modenizr start beeing identified as "touch" user. The only way i could fix this problem was to change the value in about:config.

This problem happens only under Windows (Windws 7, 64 Bit)

Expected results:

After deactivating the settings should be resetted.
OS: Mac OS X → Windows 7
Hardware: x86 → x86_64
Component: Untriaged → Developer Tools
Component: Developer Tools → Developer Tools: Responsive Mode
I can confirm this.

The setting dom.w3c_touch_events.enabled is normally set to 2, auto-detect. Turning on the simulate touch events sets it to 1, enabled, and as mentioned here, it never gets reset back to 2 when simulate touch events is disabled again.
Can confirm as well.
Firefox 29.0.1, Mac OS X 10.9.2
Summary: Simulate Touch → Touch simulation does not reset back to default state
Depends on: 970346
The new RDM UI shipping in Firefox 52 only enables touch support per tab, so the about:config value is unmodified and this issue should not happen anymore.
