Duplicate of bug 639124 which in turn is a duplicate of bug 265226.
Quite a bit of discussion and draft patches there, no recent progress though.

Yes, bugzilla is Mozilla's official bug tracking system. Feature/enhancement requests are filed here as well with "enhancement" severity, thus you did it correctly. It is policy though to mark bugs as duplicate which are pending in another bug report already, thus to keep all discussion in a single bug rather than distributing it over several reports (which would make it hard to follow).
