Disconnect from the wireless network 3. Re-establish the connection Actual results: Firefox should automatically pause and resume the download. Expected results: The download comes to a halt, and has to be manually paused and resume to continue. Further information: This is essentially a clone of https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=391732 for Firefox. Until some minutes ago, I was not even aware that Firefox is able to communicate with NetworkManager to figure out whether I am online or not - and, even better, it can even automatically pause and resume downloads. This is great! My experience with an unstable wireless connection, and when suspending/resuming the system, has just been drastically enhanced. Now I just wonder why this is not enabled per default. (I also wonder why it has a totally different name than the same pref in Thunderbird...^^)

Manuela, you might be interested in following bug 939318 in which work is happening to detect changes in network topology and stop/reset connections as necessary.
