Build ID: 2001092603 on Win2k with Flash 5.0r41 and JRE 1.3.1. URL: http://www.arche.fr/direct/publ_mag.asp Steps to reproduce: - load above URL, - vertical stripes show. Expected behaviour: Mozilla should not show these stripes. Works fine with IE6. Gilles on #mozillazine mentions Linux is not affected with build 2001092603 and Flash. There's no doctype on this page. Looking for a reduced testcase and dup...
A testcase is available at: http://wolruf.free.fr/bug101907.html (reload the page if you don't see stripes at first sight). This seems to appear only on Windows, not MacOS nor Linux.

Probably related to bug 101829 and bug 80292.
Not sure it's related to this bug, because it only occurs on Win32 systems and the image display fine when loaded directly. Changing the summary to better reflect the problem.
Summary: Vertical black stripes all over the page → Table background image display vertical black stripes
Another URL that gives me worse problems than the original one is "http://www.jabber.com/technology/". Scroll the page up and down a bit and weep. The test case added by Olivier Cahagne 2001-09-27 02:56 doesn't trigger the bug for me however.
wfm using build 2001100503 on Win2k. Seems like there's been a table/img fix over the last 7 days that fixed the problem, anyone know any ?
Johan Walles - still seeing this with a new build?
Perhaps fix for bug 92248 fixed this one too. http://www.jabber.com/technology/ wfm with build 2001100503 on Win2k whereas I remember seeing the problem with previous build from 1 week.
Marking WORKSFORME, Johan, if your bug still occurs for you, please file a new bug report as I'm not sure it's related to mine.

With 2001100708, http://www.arche.fr/direct/publ_mag.asp now looks fine to me, while (hate to say this) the Jabber site still looks like crap :-(. As this bug *looks* identical to the problems with the Modern theme described in bug 80292, maybe they *are* related after all? That bug seems to trigger only on some systems (like mine :-(). Anyway, if you still want me to file another bug that is more or less identical to this one, say so and I will.

Reopening bug as, somehow, both URL and testcase show the problem again using build 2001110803 on Win2k.

try this url as well: http://techupdate.zdnet.com/ if you look at the site's logo image, it often has the black stripes. it is also a background image of a table cell.
Marking WORKSFORME as I don't see the bug anymore with build 2001123008 on Win2k.

Using build 2002041603 on Win2k, I see striped again. And this is not the only site I happen to see black striped or black text from time to time, see recent bug 137757.

I saw the problem on the site of the french national railway company : http://www.sncf.com/ And it's very visible, more than on Zdnet.
This bug appears on almost all pages of www.eurovision.tv site. Happens offen after scrolling down and up, after switching between tabs. The page redraw is terribly slow. Try scrolling on this URL http://www.eurovision.tv/en/contestants/malta/artist/index.php Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.0rc2) Gecko/20020502 on Win2K
Related to bug 96803 , bug 104992 or bug 111176 ?
Marking dupe of bug 115452, there's definitely an issue with Mozilla/GTK/Win32 and S3 Savage* graphic cards. When disabling cursor & bitmap acceleration, there's no issue anymore. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 115452 ***

I see the problem also with an ATI 3D Rage Pro. Can someone remember me how to disable this acceleration with NT 4 ?
Jean-Marc, sorry about this, I thought it only affected S3 Savage users, perhaps you want to check meta bug 104992 for ATI issues. This URL mention you should have an 'Advanced' tab within graphic properties under NT4: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q294916 don't you have it ?
Reopening as even driver 7.40.54 (which fixed bug 115452) didn't solve this one.
