Reporter, this WorksForMe using Mac/2001092813. Mail/News status bar icon changes after reading the message. Can you reproduce this using a more recent nightly or using a new Mozilla user profile?

I am also seeing this bug (2001100803 on win2000). I am also seeing the bug where mail icons from the classic theme are shown, they may be related.

Yes, the bug still exists in 0.9.5. As before, the "mail present" icon erroneously continues to indicate new mail after the last INBOX message is read and finally changes to "no new mail" (i.e. no green arrow) after I switch to a folder other than INBOX.

Another test: I tried creating a new profile (immediately creating the mail account and switching to Modern theme) I had a tough time just getting the "new mail present" icon to light up. I had to send myself a message, select a mail folder other than INBOX, get new mail -- then the icon lights. In this case, the mail present icon turns off as soon as I click INBOX (i.e. before I read the message). I've reproduced this different behavior in my main profile as well. It's still not right (indicator should clear after last message is read), but it's interesting that it behaves inconsistently.

Resolving as new. Can't find the original even if this sounds familiar.. Seeing it on linux 2001102521 modern too (been seeing it for a long time) OS: All.
