STEPS

1. Tap and hold on an icon to enter 'edit-mode'

ACTUAL: Background doesn't fade-in but snaps to end-state
EXPECTED: Background should fade-in gradually to end-state

I noticed in the console that there are a couple of forced-sync-reflows, perhaps this is interrupting the transition? This work could be deferred until after the transition has finished.

Simply adding the 'edit-mode' class to the body results in the expected behaviour.

Mass update: Resolve wontfix all issues with legacy homescreens.

As of 2.6 we have a new homescreen and having these issues open is confusing. All issues will block bug 1231115 so we can use that to re-visit any of these if needed.
