Go to a site.
Open a link in a new tab.

seeing this on linux too, since yesterday after the XUL "carpool".
First when i close the leftmost tab, the content of the next is revealed.
There is also some horkage that makes a second unlabeled tab appear at times.
This nameless tab is impossible to close again.
When I use (2001102203, Wind 98SE) the ctrl-t in the first window to create a
new tab, I'm getting an untitled and unusable tab, but can close it with a
right-click. When I use ctrl-n to open a new window, and then use ctrl-t, I get
an untitled but *usuable* tab. Obviously another manifestation of the same bug.

This may need to be reopened.
Opening in new tab, doesn't ring the new tab to the top, it's created under the
current content.

Which is a feature that I really like.
I hope this is not a bug (anyway if it is, it's another bug)

It dosen't have parity with Open in New Window function.
When you select to open a new tab/window, it infers you want to see that new
content. e.g. from a Google results page, you can jump to several links in new
tabs/window keeping the results page handy underneath.
It's not labeled "Open in new Tab/Window for Later Review."

Nooo. For the love of god!
Let tabs - even windows - pop up in the background!
I am certain that this is being handled in another bug, with the ability to set
it in the preferences applet?

ignore last comment - it is implemented in daily builds... :)

I am not talking about prohibiting tabs/new windows from opening in the
backgroud, it just should NOT be the default behaviour!

Clicking a link should ALWAYS bring up the window with the target link
contents. ONLY a modifier key (or preference) should open the clicked link in a
window *BELOW* the current one.
Otherwise, it will confuse the heck out of novice and full-screen surfers ("hey,
that click didn't do *anything*!!!").
Is there a bug to fix this incorrect behaviour, or should I file one?

Peter: That is in fact exactly how it works today.
lophat: Please go to Edit|Preferences|Navigator|Tabbed Browsing and make sure you don't have the "Load links in the background" option checked.
Please see bug #102120 (now closed) for further details.

1. Will this also fix the right-click context menu also NOT working in the first
window?
2. CTRL+T should either open a new TAB with the *homepage* or the *currently
opened page*. It should NOT open a blank page for several reasons: (A) if
someone is used to mozilla starting with his homepage, he will be confused when
staring at a blank page. (B) Many users will be confused by the non-URL'ish
"about:blank" in the URL bar.

Peter, I imagine that CTRL-T should act the same as opening a new browser
window. In other words, it should follow the setting in the Navigator pane of
the prefs dialog: either blank page, home page, or last page visited (or perhaps
the currently displayed page in the current window).
I know that I prefer opening a blank tab, and I don't to be forced to have the
current page loaded every time I hit CTRL-T. I don't mind if load current page
is the default behaviour, as long as I can change it.
