This is a tracking bug for mozilla 1.0 plain text editor fixes. Hopefully, this will let us gather all of the serious problems with the plain text editor that would make 1.0 painful.

So was this bug intended to track plain text widgets, plaintext mail compose, and the plain text editor?

Hmmm, most of the bugs that blocked this bug were text widget specific, so I went ahead and added more text widget specific bugs. Should I make my own tracking bug for text widgets and move all these bugs to that? To answer blizzard's question, the answer is no, they are not the same. The plaintext mail compose window is actually an HTML Editor with special rules ... that's necessary because mail uses a <PRE> full of the quoted reply text to preserve the spacing of the orginal mail, but at the same time allowing the user to type in a proportional font.

OK, I opened bug 108194 to track plain text mail compose problems. Are there any bugs here that should be moved over there?

This should be targetted at 1.0 as it's a 1.0 tracking bug. Fixing.

Bugs currently not targeted at 1.0, but probably should be IMO: bug 33654, bug 50633, bug 68331, and probably more that I can't find right now. There sure are a lot of textarea bugs in this product...

It doesn't make any sense to have a 1.0 tracking bug targeted for anything post-1.0. Pulling target milestone back and adding mozilla1.0 keyword.
