the installer crashes installing mozilla, it makes it to 'installing navigator'
and the bouncing bar, but then reports an application error on 0x60c761f1, read
from 0x0000000. 

i've tried uninstalling first, and deleting all entries in the registry, none
worked, so i'm reporting now with 2001103103 :)

NT4, sp6a+hotfixes.


Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
see description.
1. uninstall, clear registry
2. install custom with default options, 'chatzilla' & 'mail/news' deselected, in
c:\program files\mozilla.org, and quick launch selected.
3. note crash while installing 'navigator' part

Actual Results:  if i try to run mozilla manually (no shortcuts yet of course!),
it comes up with a completely blank window.

Expected Results:  functional mozilla!

This sounds like bug 107421, except that one is marked fixed. Taking the liberty
of setting the milestone because this might be a 0.9.6 blocker, but of course we
need to find a better home for this than syd if it's confirmed. If no one gets
to it first I'll try it later when i'm not on a modem

Dan, 
This sounds like bug 108530- I saw on Monday and another reporter added to bug 
today.  During Install of Navigator- the screen shows  Preparing file: Profile 
Manager and then crashes.  
It is not happening on Win2k or Win98 -
