Steps to reproduce:

When my Internet connection was down for some time, I noticed that I in the process manager of Win7 the Thunderbird process was still alive, even after I closed Thunderbird.


Actual results:

Thunderbird did not shut down completely


Expected results:

I expected that it would shut down even with no internet connection at that moment

I tried netstat, but I can't reproduce the problem right now...

see esp bug 858035 - but so far it hasn't been retested on a current version

I looked ath the buglist you mentioned. Bug 937371 seems to be the same or very similar.

Does it reproduce with version 38 beta?

Sorry for the late response. I can't reproduce the issue anymore. Maybe it was trying to connect to a mailserver while my internet connection was down? Maybe it was still busy with it while I closed TB?
