Summary: Explore using .SVG for icons → Explore using SVG for icons in Firefox for Android
We just upgraded to support library 23.4 (from 23.0.1) in Bug 1267884. That means that we *should* now be able to use SVG resources in place of .png, across all Android versions (5 and newer supported this natively, but previously SVG's weren't useful on Android 4). I'll do some actual verification/testing as part of Activity Stream, but at least in theory it looks like there's now no reason to not use SVG.
