I installed 0.9.7 today and went to a website that used java (in this case it
was an online banking site). There I got the prompt that I have to install the
Java Runtime Environment which was btw already installed on my computer.
Nevertheless I installed the suggested plug-in (and followed the instructions),
restarted mozilla, even restarted the computer, but instead of loading the java
applet, it still said 'click here to install plug-in'. Then I uninstalled all
the JREs I found and repeated the procedure - no success.
So I tried installing the plug-in from the suggested Netscape site which works
fine with IE but also does not work with mozilla. In its setup I can choose in
which browser I want to use the plug-in - it offers only IE and Netscape 6, and
when I click on NS 6 it says I don't have enough rights to perform this change
(I have administrator rights on my local machine which should be enough).

have you read the release notes ?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
If Java doesn't work, make sure the following is true:
On Windows:
Copy the NPOJI610.DLL from C:\JDK*\jre\bin to "\plugins" directory of your
installation.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
It's NPojo600.dll if you have JRE1.3x and Npogi610.dll with jre 1.4x

Please copy all np*.dll from c:\JRE\1.3.1_01\bin to your mozilla\plugin directory.
With these files I can open every Java Applet.
wfm moz 0.9.7; w2k; jre 1.3.1_01a
--> bug: invalid

tobias.weibel@gmx.net:
He must only copy the npoji*.dll and this bug is not invalid unless the reporter
doesn't asnwer.
And it's a dupe if Java works with the .dll in the plugin folder.
The Java installer fails to copy the .dll in the plugin folder.
sorry for the circumstances
