User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:38.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/38.0 Build ID: 20150525141253 Firefox for Android Steps to reproduce: In Android Firefox (Fennec) there is a "Check for updates" option in Menu->Settings->Mozilla->About Firefox. Actual results: In android devices without access the check for updates does not do anything. Firefox also does not check for updates automatically, like it does on the desktop version. Expected results: Firefox/fennec should detect that an update is available and offer to download it, just like on the desktop version, when the "check for updates" option is pressed. Further it should also automatically periodically check for updates, just like on the desktop version. I dont think its too hard for Mozilla to enable this simple feature. Either directly download from the Mozilla ftp server or from the Firefox marketplace. Wonder why the firefox marketplace does not host firefox itself. A common objection would be that android version detection etc are not in the realm of firefox. However this is not a major issue. The current installed version of firefox can always check for an updated version at the same api level (android version). Please implement the same as soon as possible.
