Description: According to Bug 714355 and Bug 813129, system time should be able to be set automatically even without SIM card. Both bugs were marked as RESOLVED after Bug 874771 landed. However, time can't be set automatically with WiFi connection on latest m-c. P.S. SNTP seems not working on m-c. To be clear, NITZ works fine. Steps to reproduce: 1) Don't put any SIM card in the FxOS device 2) Open Settings app --> Click 'Date & Time'; Then, set a incorrect time manually. (Skip this step if the time is incorrect at the first place.) 3) Enable WiFi and get a active WiFi connection Actual Result: Time is not set automatically and user can't trigger any time-update from NTP server in Settings app. Expected Result: Time is not set automatically Build ID 20150726160205 Gaia Revision ade1ef5249cfab921e00ed67b30f3d03c2e24b5e Gaia Date 2015-07-24 11:53:36 Gecko Revision https://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/rev/d3228c82badd Gecko Version 42.0a1 Device Name flame
Looks like it is properly updated on the next reboot. So maybe we should just request sntp at each connection?
(In reply to Alexandre LISSY :gerard-majax from comment #1) > Looks like it is properly updated on the next reboot. So maybe we should > just request sntp at each connection? I noticed time will be updated if user reboot the system, however, the updated time is still incorrect. P.S. Data is updated correctly, but both 'hour' and 'minute' fields are incorrect.
Values are good on my side.
FYI : NTP_SERVER=time.gpsonextra.net in gps.conf Not sure if that makes a difference.

fyi. for MWC if we go, you need a sim card for the time to get set correctly.
