Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:39.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/39.0 Build ID: 20150801112200 Steps to reproduce: I updated my gentoo linux to latest thunderbird version 38.1.0, with plugins for lightning 4.0.1.2 and "provider for google calendar" 1.0.4 i start thunderbird e.g. from command line without any arguments Actual results: with both plugins enabled, the windows (I get one for every calendar I registered and one for all mail accounds sum= 5) to enter the master password appear, but they do not show any text, no input field and the buttons are small and show no text, no button reacts, can't login. when I start in --safe-mode and enable all plugins but "provider for google calendar" and restart thunderbird, i get a normal window to enter master password for my email. Expected results: I need fully functional login windos to enter my password, even with google calendar provider enabled. I used to have 5 windows - I would like to have only one master password login window - but that's a minor glitch in the provider software...

Please install the "Startupmaster" extension.

I insist that this bug is not about multiple master password prompts but about non-functional master password windows with the latest tb version! Another plugin is not a solution.

Ulf, the other plugin is a workaround. Does this also fix your issue? I've heard reports that this extension also fixes the non-functional master password prompts.

@philipp I don't much like the idea to install a plugin to fix another plugin software, notably if it is about password security. But I did a short review of the "startupmaster" source and as it is short of lines and understandable I installed and tested it: Yes it Works, but only because it makes TB not to use the buggy code in lightning/gdata provider. As we need a fix, please leave this bug open.

xref dupe of bug 1176399.

As the core issue behind this bug is the same as for multiple master password dialogs, I'm duping it against the other open bug.
