User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:18.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/18.0 Build ID: 20130116073211 Steps to reproduce: I added a master password to Thunderbird and installed Lightning and Gdata provider. Actual results: like the bug n°349641 on Lightning, Google Calendar provider also requests the master password a second time. I disabled my modules to isolate Gdata provider, the second demand is active only when Gdata provider is enabled too. Expected results: Thunderbird should ask for the master password only once, and the Gdata provider should acquire the authorization within Thunderbird.

I have the same issue, with GData provider installed and Google Calendar connected master password dialog pops up two times when starting Thunderbird. TB Version is 24.0, Lightning 2.6, Provider for Google Calendar 0.25.

It can be worked around by this extension https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/startupmaster/ but anyway it should be fixed.

Still an issue with the Provider for Google Calendar 1.0.2
Status: UNCONFIRMED → NEW
Ever confirmed: true
Version: Lightning 1.9 → Trunk
Is there any update on this PLEASE? I have to enter my Master Password 6 times, once for each calendar. And for an extra special little annoyance, I have to mouse select each and every dialog box before entering the PW.
Hi Philipp, I looked at it, but I'm hoping for a fix within Provider. I prefer not to have to pile on add-ins for the purpose of patching fixes for other add-ins. Thanks

I understand that and I'd like to see it fixed in the provider too, but given there is a workaround I haven't given this much priority. I'll eventually get around to this :)

Name Thunderbird Version 45.0 User Agent Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; WOW64; rv:45.0) Gecko/20100101 Thunderbird/45.0 Application Build ID 20160407161913 Lightning 4.7 true {e2fda1a4-762b-4020-b5ad-a41df1933103} With Lightning enabled I get 8 password prompts -- if I disable Lightning I get one prompt. So I tested further and enabled Lightning again, but disabled Provider for Google Calendar 2.7 (a62ef8ec-5fdc-40c2-873c-223b8a6925cc} - I now only get 1 Master Password prompt. I use the same addon in SeaMonkey 2.40 (Windows and Linux) and do not experience the same. IMO using an extension to fix an extension is not a solution - please fix. If you can tell me what to look for, I can compare with my SeaMonkey 2.40.

(In reply to NoOp from comment #11) > IMO using an extension to fix an extension is not a solution It isn't nor was it claimed to be a 'solution' - it is (and was referred to as) a 'workaround - and it is perfectly acceptable as a workaround, because it works.
