Details

Whenever I install java with a clean .zip of mozilla, java will not install properly when using the installer package download. Instead, I have to copy a few dll's from the java directory once it is installed, and then run an exe in the java directory so it is recognized. This can be done many times. Process: Download ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla/nightly/latest/mozilla-win32.zip Unpackage into a directory called \mozilla\ Run mozilla goto http://www.speedtest.net (or any page with java content) run the installer to get english version of java mozilla will report installation sucessful click on "click here after installing the plugin" java applet will not load restarting mozilla and going to the webpage will ask you to download the package again. Reproducability: Always Expected result: Java to be installed, have proper dll's copied over and the plug in to work Actual result: Java installed, but plugins are not available. This can be done so far on Windows 98, Windows 2000 and Windows XP. Unsure whether this component should be Browser-General or Installer: XPI Packages
Corrected summary
Summary: Installing java though netscape package does not work. → Installing java through installer package does not work.
