I'm on a the fennec beta release channel running on a samsung galaxy s5 active. I noticed yesterday that when I use "about:" it tells me I'm on 44.0b4 I tried the button to "check for updates but it tells me "no updates available." I think it should be offering me something more recent up to 44.0b9 at this point I tried the check for updates on both wifi and mobile connections. Same result. Are we seeing slower migration to latest beta's than usual, or is this just a problem for me or a limited set of people? Any thing else I can try to kick the update into action? I'll hold off re-installing until I hear back.
on the phone -> settings > application manager > app info > firefox beta tells me "Version 44" Where when I look at chrome beta it tells me a much more fine grained version number. like 48.0.2564.79 wondering if when we kick out 45b1 I'll be able to migrate up, but then get stuck on b1 until we get to 46?
The "check for updates" button does not work for releases (Beta and Release). That is handled by the Google Play Store. There are other bugs filed to add support, but only when the app is installed from somewhere that is not the Google Play Store. You must update your Beta via the Play Store. As for migration, it's been consistent. No changes over the last year.
I did see any indication of an update offer, or notice that fennec was updating me, but now when I look I'm on 44b11. Check for updates says No updates available.
