We unnecessarily delayed implementing the standard API, so it might take a while before we can remove the prefixed API. If we end up being unable to remove the prefixed API, we'll ensure it gets standardized.

I don't create a new bug because I think it's related to this one. I'm using the latest beta and I've noticed that the fullscreen button of html5 video tags have disappeared lately. I've wandered in about:config and found full-screen-api.unprefix.enabled, set it to true and fullscreen button is back. I think it has not been removed correctly.

That sounds like a regression from bug 1268749. Could you file a bug for that and make it block bug 1268749?
It looks like that is a known bug: bug 1273468.
