After landing photon
Side menu pane and the right side detail pane of Preferences and Addon Manager is same background color and no border.
When I try to scroll the detail with mouse wheel, the page would not scroll.
Because mouse pointer is often in the side menu pane.
I think that
At least, scroll region should be more distinguishable.
Or
It is better to be able to scroll the detail pane even if mouse pointer is in the Side menu pane.

Hi,
The new visual design is to make the navigation floating on the background to provide a light and modern feeling which aligns with Photon style. I'm afraid that making the navigation menu scrollable isn't an option since we'd like to make it constantly shows there.
Thanks for your feedback :)

That's not what this bug is asking for.

Hi Dao,
Scrolling an area which user's mouse isn't pointing at isn't intuitive, so we'd like to keep it as how we designed. If we make the left area to be scrollable, the navigation menu will be scrolled with the content, which is not what we expected.
The new dark squares under the hovered navigation items imply the width of the non-scrollable area. So it shouldn't be confusing now. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

Again, nobody is asking for the left area to be scrollable. This bug was caused by the removal of the menu's background.

Yes, this helps some, but not if your mouse is on the lower part where there's no menu item.

I cannot see dark squares when open about:preferences.
STR
1. Open about:preferences.
2. Turn mouse wheel
Actual Results:
I cannot see dark squares.
I can not recognize where the scroll-able area is.
Expected Results:
The UI should clearly show the scroll area.
UI should not depend on the user's experience level.

Do we prefer to make the distinction between menu and content as comment 8 suggestion? If design team don't want to take this change, I'd like to set this bug as wontfix. Thanks

Per discussion with Helen, the current background color is by design, and design team has reached consensus that all in-content pages should use consistent and pale white background color. There is no plan to change the design for in-content now. As a result, I'm going to wontfix this issue. Thanks

No, I am not taking about background color.
Thre are no indication scroll region.
I do not recognize what area is able to scroll. So, I fails to scroll with mouse wheel.

Totally agree. It is hard to see what part can be scrolled in Preferences.
