Seen while running the latest nightly, using the latest 10.13 seed. Not sure if this is the correct component. I have noticed this over the past 2 days - the main browser window that I launch for nightly will lose the window controls (Red/Yellow/Green) after browsing for some time. If I launch a new window or if I close the nightly browser and open it again, I do see the controls visible. I turned webrender off, so I know that is not the culprit.
Markus: Do we think this is a possible side effect of Bug 1391790?

Does this reproduce after bug 1398582 landed? And yes, this is most likely due to the SDK switch in bug 1324892.

Now that I have been playing around with customize a bit more, I think this only happens when the titlebar is unchecked in customize.

Marcia, can you still reproduce this now that bug 1400057 landed?

I'm not sure if this helps but I'm also seeing this on Firefox Nightly version 58.0a1 (2017-09-29) (64-bit). After browsing for a while the window control buttons disappear. Not sure this is exactly the same behavior as clicking where the buttons should be still works. I haven't found reliable steps to reproduce though I can "fix" a window and restore the buttons by entering and exiting full-screen. Minimizing does not bring the controls back. Please let me know if you'd prefer that I file another bug. Firefox version: 58.0a1 (2017-09-29) (64-bit) Mac OS: 10.13 Machine Type: MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Early 2013)

Please try to reproduce with the latest nightly. You can update the browser by clicking on "Firefox" in the menubar and selecting "About Firefox". Thanks!

To clarify: 58 being Nightly, you would click on "Nightly" in the menubar and select "About Nightly" to update.
I can confirm that going to, "About Nightly" indicates I'm using the latest version but that I'm still seeing this issue. Will restart Nightly and see if it persists.
I confirm that in the MAC version, the 3 buttons disappear.
It turns out that nightly updates have been disabled for unrelated reasons. Can you please manually download the latest version of Nightly and verify? It should show a date of 2017-10-02 or later "About Nightly". https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/channel/desktop/#nightly
I've just downloaded and updated. You're correct that it stopped updating as this version is newer. It's now called, "FirefoxFirefoxNightly" in my dock, and "FirefoxNightly" at the top menu so it seems like something odd is going on there. Will look for a bug report.

The app title name is Bug 1404823.

Do you know at least why this bug comes from the buttons?
I just got out of bed, I was upgraded the firefox beta 58 MAC version, and the 3 buttons have magically appeared, demómento everything ok.
Fixed by bug 1400057.
