STR: Enter a search query like "site:example.org blah". Expected: Unless I've actually got an app installed that handles the "site://" protocol, a search is started with my entered text, just as on Desktop. Actual: In the best case I'm taken to an error page (and I can at least edit my query to fix it by swapping the search terms around so they're not mistaken for a protocol), in the worst case not even that happens and my search query is lost (it might be displayed in the URL bar, but I can't edit it again in any case). Bug 1278581 was originally about this, but it seems to have morphed into just fixing the case where no error page is shown.

Please help prioritize this
