Checking out this blog post [1] and running the first pen "Flat Preloader" my MBPro starts to heat up. After about 1-2 minutes the fans are on 100%, while all 4 CPUs change from ~60˚C to ~70-75˚C.
MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015)
macOS 10.11.6
2.5 GHz Intel Core i7
It was also running hot when I checked out this video earlier today, but that might be a different issue - https://hacks.mozilla.org/2017/11/dash-playback-of-av1-video/

The example works fine on my linux box, I mean the animations run on the compositor, it doesn't consume CPU so much. Is it possible to consume GPU instead just like bug 1422090?

Possible. I was checking the heat with Mac Fan Control and only the CPUs rose. How can I check the GPU consumption?

Bug 1422090 comment 12 would be helpful to check the GPU usage.

just ran the animation again monitoring with XRG and it seemed all fine - no fans came up.
