Hello,
I have been monitoring those topics for ages, having this performance issue since v57 came out.
I'm on a base model Macbook Pro Retina 13 inches - Early 2015 under the latest version of OS X Mojave.
Basically, everytime I open Firefox, my fans are getting loud very fast.
I've downloaded Temperature Gauge Pro and Temp Monitor to help cool down my Mac while using Firefox.
Since v70, my CPU Proximity Sensor is at 58-60 °C while day to day browsing, without "Low resolution mode" enabled and without the "gfx.opaque" option enabled.
Youtube however is still a ressource hog in FF v71 (at least in "HD" Mode).
I can do some other tests if you want. (sorry, French is my main language but I understand written english).

Youtube however is still a ressource hog in FF v71 (at least in "HD" Mode).
I suggest filing a separate issue for that.
Since FF 70 has the mstange's core animations changes I'm going to close this as FIXED for now. Any remaining issues should be filed as new bugs.
