Details |
Ubuntu 17.10, Gnome Shell, OSX-Arc-White theme
The snap package from canonical has darker font and background colors than my theme.
The non-snap official package does not have this problem and picks up the right colours from my theme.
I am attaching a screenshot with both the distro-provided Firefox and the snap Firefox side by side for comparizon.
Left is Firefox snap (59), right is classic Firefox (58). The snap Firefox is darker than it should be.

This is due to the snap being confined from the host system. Currently, a number of themes which are default on popular distros are bundled along with the snap which should cover most users. We're still working on a secure and stable way to provide richer access to themes for snaps.

How do you launch the snap Firefox?
For me this seems to happen if I drop the BAMF_... variable
BAMF_DESKTOP_FILE_HINT=/var/lib/snapd/desktop/applications/firefox_firefox.desktop /snap/bin/firefox

I believe this issue is now stale, I cant remember seeing a wrong UI, do you confirm everything has been done on snap/ubuntu side and we could close that ?

This should be closed, I can't reproduce the bug. I'm sure something has been fixed along the way.
