In the Bookmarks sidebar or Bookmarks Manager, bookmarks can be copied from one location to another by holding down the Control key and dragging them. However, this does not work for entire folders of bookmarks. This problem exists only in SeaMonkey; Ctrl+drag in Firefox works as expected on both individual bookmarks and bookmark folders. This may be related to Bug 1463664. Reproducibility: Always Steps to reproduce: 1. Open the Bookmarks sidebar or the Bookmarks Manager. 2. Select a bookmark folder. (It doesn't matter whether or not the folder contains anything.) 3. Hold down the Control key and drag the folder to a new position. Expected behaviour: 4. The bookmark folder, and all its contents, should be copied to the new position. Observed behaviour: 4. Nothing happens.
In Fx 52.8 the Control key does nothing for me in the Library left pane. I can manually copy/paste and do a move drag in SeaMonkey 2.53 same as in Fx with bug 1378089 applied. As far as I see it copy/drag does not work via keyboard only in Fx. Could you retry with 52.8. Might be a later version which added this and could be backported then.

In both Firefox 60.0 and Firefox 52.8 control-dragging folders works fine for me in the left bookmarks pane. The pointer changes to a + pointer and when the drag is released, a new copy of the folder appears at the insertion point.
(In reply to Frank-Rainer Grahl (:frg) from comment #1) > As far as I see it copy/drag does not work via keyboard only in Fx. By the way, what does this mean? How do you drag "via keyboard only"? My report is about holding down the Control key on the keyboard while using a pointing device (such as a mouse or a trackpad) to do the actual dragging.
I see. Did it wrong. This will be fixed in 2.57. Bug 1378089 took care of it. A preliminary private 2.53 is available if you want to check. Not 100% up to part wrt security fixes so treat it as a beta: https://www.wg9s.com/comm-253/
