From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.0.0) Gecko/20020530 BuildID: 2002053012 Some windows will center on the primary display when the browser is on another display, while some other windows will center on the same display of the browser. Specifically, when trying to download a skin from a website: The dialog that comes up to ask you if you want to use this skin displays correctly on the display with the browser window, while the Download Status for the skin centers on the primary monitor Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Put the browser on a secondary display. 2. Go to a site with Mozilla skins and click on the install link 3. A dialog will appear to ask you if you want to use this skin. This dialog displays in the center of the secondary screen. Click OK. 4. A dialog will appear for download status in center of primary screen. Actual Results: The initial dialog asking you if you want to use the skin you wish to install displays correctly on the secondary display. The download status window displays incorrectly by being in the center of the primary display Expected Results: The download status should have been in the center of the secondary display like the dialog box that appeared before it

Reporter: does this still happen? A screenshot (or better yet, a picture of both monitors, would be helpful.
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20040913 Firefox/0.10 I get this same problem, but it's not just windows (although all new windows do spawn on display 1). This happens with menus (they show up at the right edge of display 1), auto-complete text. I'll see if I can get some screen shots up for you to look at.
I got some shots up, and it appears that this is not limited to FireFox. It happened in Sunbird as well. I am currently unable to reproduce this bug (in either application), so I'll have to look into how I can reproduce it. http://www.saintdevelopment.com/mozilla I cropped most of the images to highlight the parts with the problems, the full screenshots are under full-resolution.

I am experiencing this on the Mozilla Suite browser (Mozilla 1.7.3) on Win XP sp2. The problem I have noticed is the menus appearing on the primary display. I will upgrade to the latest release of Mozilla Suite and retest.
Tested on Mozilla Suite v1.7.5 WinXP sp2 - The menus are now working OK. New windows are still appearing on the primary display instead of secondary. Steps to reproduce: 1) Open Mozilla Suite Web browser and place on secondary display monitor. 2) Choose "Go > History". Actual Results: The History window opens on the primary display. Expected Results: The History window should open on the same display monitor as the "parent" window.
The following bugs all seem to be related and/or duplicates: Bug 78155, Bug 149479, Bug 232690
I have just discovered that Microsoft Word 2000 suffers the same problem with opening new windows! This suggests to me an OS problem.
