Actual results: you will see the selected text not being highlighted. Expected results: This could be a design choice, if so I think it is a poor choice and there should be an option to disable it if not already there.

Was the screenshot of the window at the top taken when the OS was in dark mode? The window shows the default theme, which is not supposed to be selectable when the OS is in dark mode. Could you provide two screenshots, the first one of a window with text selected in the URL bar when the OS is in dark mode and the other one when the OS is in regular mode?

Yes the screenshot was taken with default theme and dark mode. At the moment looks like the issue has been resolved. As a work around I was using another theme, but today reverted back to default theme and seems to be high-lighting with a faint blue-ish color. I will close the browser once and report back. Current version: 62.0.3
