Testing with TB 60.9 (Windows and Linux), I'm not able to configure a new SMTP/IMAP account if some autodiscover DNS entry exists for the domain.
It always starts with the assistant asking for some account and there is no chance to enter mailservers manually. After entering username, email address and password, it asks for users "DOMAIN/username" and then nothing happens any more. It lacks of any feedback or error message. I found that the "Edit manually" button is visible for a very short time only if I enter random stuff to "DOMAIN/username" field. I then made it once to click it. But mostly I'm not fast enough. I have three people here not able to use TB any more because the autodiscover DNS entry exists for two users only (using external hosted exchange). All others will use SMTP/IMAP.
I suggest to display the "Edit manually" button from the beginning and not hiding it in any situation.

Benb, are the blocking bugs still wanted? Note, bug 1527180 is waiting for your feedback.
