Steps to reproduce:

Opened firefox, navigated to Spotify web player, logged in via Facebook, listened to music. Most leaks while it is the only tab, and the window is minimised. One leak while browsing reddit at the same time in a different tab (attached report). To rule out extensions, safe mode was tried; spotify web player was the only tab, and minimised; leak occurred as normal.

Actual results:

One of the firefox processes begins to rapidly increase it's memory usage until all available memory is filled. This invariably causes the computer to become unresponsive, or extremely slow at responding.

The most notable thing in the memory report is the large number of unused arenas:

I can reproduce this issue on Fx 65.0.2 Windows 7 x32 but only when NoScript Suite is installed. After noScript Suite is installed it will block a script from sdnc.com turning the whole Spotify webpage black and as soon as I enable the script from sdnc.com everything appears again and after 5-6 seconds firefox crashes due to OOM here is the crash report https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/e261b4bb-b340-47cb-9e88-fc7810190418. Also with these steps Fx 65.0.2 crashes even without minimizing the window.

However this issue does not reproduce on Fx 67.0b11 and Fx 68.0a1 Windows 7 x32 I tried with all the add-ons from the report installed and enabled, and using the previous steps with NoScript Suite.

It sounds like this has been fixed, possibly by bug 1527742. Lets close it for now.

I can confirm it's still happening on 66.0.5, including in safe mode. I haven't been able to get a new memory report (the resulting crash usually requires hitting restart), though from task manager it's evident Firefox using all of the available memory was the cause of the crash.

We believe this is fixed in the next release, 67. It's currently available as beta and will be released in 10 days.

I'm going to redupe this. Please reopen it if you still see this issue once Firefox 67 has been released. (The release got pushed back by a week so it is not out yet. Thanks for the report.
