Details
Bug 1690030 changed the context menu entry from "View Image" (in current tab) to "Open Image in New Tab". Previously, we had the option to open images both in the current tab (simple click) or in a new tab (ctrl-click or middle click).
In the new context menu, there is no way anymore to open the image in the current tab. A possible workaround would be to change ctrl-click behaviour to do so, since it currently does the same as a simple click and thus provides to added value.

Next time do feel free to hook up bugs to the bug that caused them... by now there is a dupe where that did happen. :-)
