Bug 1657853 turned this off, but didn't indicate if it was intended to turn it on in future, or what was broken.
The new UI is much nicer and better than the old one, so it would be nice to turn it on.
I tried briefly and I'm seeing:
gBrowser is not defined printUtils.js:120
getPreviewBrowser chrome://global/content/printUtils.js:120
_openTabModalPrint chrome://global/content/printUtils.js:246
AsyncFunctionNext self-hosted:695
So it might be that that code needs changing.

It would indeed be nice to use the new UI.

As an option, perhaps, but not everyone can use it without migraines.
