Details
Currently language packs are compatible with only one version of Firefox (e.g. 93.*
).
If we want to drop single-locale builds, we need to figure out how to ship language packs for different versions, both for first install and for allowing users to switch language at run-time.
One possible solution to that problem is building language packs against gecko-strings (cross-channel repository), which covers all shipping versions of Firefox (Nightly to Release, ESR).
