We should create a default color scheme for the folder pane icons. This improves the user experience by giving each icon another distinguishing feature making it easier to find a specific folder at a glance

macOS: Remove the selected folder icon rule to still show the color. r=aleca

Now that I've sat with the colors for a few days, I think maybe the Drafts is a bit too prominent and grabs too much attention with that purple.
I'd maybe consider having drafts as a light grey like the trash or similar, and the templates as purple, but less saturated.
I don't know, what do you all think?

Or leave the purple but less saturated.

What I think is, that the fill opacity is too low on dark theme. On light themes it's perfect.

I really don't think I like this yellow for the folders.
On macOS for example they're very hard to see depending on what's behind the window, but even on a flat white background they're too faint.

The previous orange was much more visible and visually more consistent with the other colors.
Where was the complaint about the new folders colors not being yellow?

With bug 1766749 fixed this should be no problem any more. Are the folders too faint in the screenshot of comment 6? For me it's good.

But when you still want that reverted I can create a back-out patch.

I'm still not sure about that bug, and most likely it won't happen before 102.

Yes please, let's back it out for now and ship the icons for 102 with the original color scheme (other than the draft purple a little bit lighter).
We can collect feedback and easily improve it in a point release if we get a lot of negative reports.

I have added a new amber color between yellow and orange for the default folder color and changed the drafts color to be a lighter purple.

Can you provide a screenshot?
Which version are you running?
We had a light yellow color for a while on beta which didn't work on macOS. 102 Beta will have a better contrast and a different color.

I attached a screenshot that shows the old color from yesterday's Daily build on the left side and the new color from today's Daily build on the right side. I had no issues with yesterday's color, with today's color it's difficult for me to recognize the icon if I do not go close to the screen.

Yes, we changed the icons to yellow but only for a couple of days to test it. Next update will revert back to a more contrast accurate and visible color.
