Repro on 20220524214448, Ubuntu 22.04 at least
STR:
- Attend a Zoom event using Zoom Web
- Select a specific output device (e.g., headset)
- Select a different output device on Gnome's sound settings (e.g., docking station)
Expected:
Sound flows through the headset
Actual:
No sound. I have to switch the system-wide preferences to the headset. Selecting anyting on Zoom Web does nothing.

Alexandre, when you're in the web client, do you get the drop up menu under the mic icon on the lower left? Could you posts a screen capture of that?
I checked this in Windows and it works. Wondering if there's a difference in UI though. I'll get a ubuntu vm going and see what I see there next.

My headset is the Corsair device, and GNOME Sound settings where I got no sound were set to the ThinkPad station

Let's make this issue a bit clearer.
Alex, you're attempting to switch the output device, using Gnome Sound Settings, by changing the default audio output device? I don't think this is expected to work (but we can probably make it work). You can achieve what you want to do by using pavucontrol
and switching the device there, in the Playback
tab.
Firefox sees and can list audio output devices, but cannot generally switch WebRTC calls to an output device as of now, because we haven't implemented it. Audio input device switching works well.

Since Zoom Web was exposing a list of device, I was expecting it (and us) to be able to switch the output device directly from within firefox, and not being dependant on GNOME's selection.
