User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.1) Gecko/20020826 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.1) Gecko/20020826 This is a recasting of a note I added to bug 22474, because it looks like that bug's getting ignored for historical reasons (I might be wrong). Anyway: I see what I think is a related problem. Create a local folder named "A/B" (don't include the " characters). If you try to rename it, you get the message: "The folder could not be renamed. Perhaps the folder is being reparsed, or the new name is no a valid folder name." Similarly, attempts to delete such a folder silently fail. I.e., the folder remains shown in the folder tree. It seems like maybe the "new folder" code is using a less restrictive standard than necessary for checking folder names. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create a mail folder named "A/B" (sans the " characters) 2. Try to rename it. You can't. 3. Try to delet it. You're silently ignored. Actual Results: The mail folder tree appears as though you hadn't performed steps 2 or 3. Expected Results: (For step 2) altered the tree to show a folder with the new desired name. (For step 3) shown a tree that lacks the specified folder.
If I subsequently restart Mozilla (after closing *all* Mozilla windows), the ill-named folder doesn't appear.
